This remarkable paint was named “SoftlyFlo” because of its wonderful ability to blend together to achieve shaded results and retain a beautiful soft finish.
SoftlyFlo is our signature paint and so unique that you can paint on a variety of surfaces and utilize it in many different ways.
You can apply SoftlyFlo using its original ballpoint tip, a brush or one of our other “special effect” tips (see page 9). There is no odor, no need to heat-set and cleanup is a breeze with SoftlyFlo. The paint is water-based.
SoftlyFlo Helpful Hints
• When you first use a new tube of SoftlyFlo paint, remove the cap by gripping it firmly and pulling.
• When painting with SoftlyFlo you should place a Tri-Chem Painting Pad 0653 (page 7) in between the front and back layers of your garment to prevent the paint from penetrating to the back side.
• Place a Tri-Chem Knit Sticker (page 7) directly under the area of the surface you are painting. This will prevent sliding or stretching.
• It is very important when you paint to hold the tube vertically and press down lightly on the ballpoint tip. The paint will then flow freely.
• Paint a small area of your design and then use a Tri-Chem Shading Tool 0488 (page 9) for blending and shading.
• When you are blending colors together, use two or more colors at the same time. You should apply the lighter color first and then add the darker shade of paint and rub the two colors together where they overlap with your shading tool. The Tri-Chem Instruction Book 0675 (page 9) will also provide you with many helpful tips.
• You can use the Fast Flo Tip 0408 (page 9) to apply paint to a large area and the Wonder-Flo Tip 0420 (page 9) to apply very fine lines. When you insert these tips you should first remove your ballpoint tip using the Tip Changer 0643 (page 9) or the Tip Service Kit 0641 (page 9) which comes with 3 extra E-Z Flo Tips.
